ILHAM MINDA 141
LUBUK AKAL TEPIAN ILMU
SANDARAN RASA SASARAN KATA
(Short saying drawn from long experience)
(One man’s wit is all men’s wisdom)

11
Keperluan itu melampaui kemahuan dan
keinginan itu melampaui keyakinan.

 12
Jika dapat lebih jangan menagih dan jika
dapat kurang jangan menentang.

 13
Yang diberi nama itu ada makna dan yang
diberi gelaran itu ada ganjaran
.

14
Berminat jika ada kepentingan tetapi ber-
hemat jika ada kegentingan.

15
Yang bersubahat itu turut terlibat manaka-
la yang bersabit itu turut terbabit.

16
Jika yakin hubungan makin terjalin tetapi ji-
ka syak hubungan makin retak
.

17
Hubungan tak berterusan tanpa ketelusan
dan tak berpanjangan tanpa pegangan.

18
Yang meminta maaf hatinya senang dan
yang merasa insaf hatinya tenang.

19
Diam itu kebijaksanaan terpendam tetapi
marah itu kebencian terserlah.

20
Jika bertindak melampau kena halau dan
jika bertindak keterlaluan jadi buruan.
