ILHAM MINDA 158
LUBUK AKAL TEPIAN ILMU
BERALAS RASA BERASAS KATA
(Short saying drawn from long experience)
(One man’s wit is all men’s wisdom)
1
Apabila payah jangan mengalah dan apa-
bila mudah jangan berlengah.
2
Yang cekap jangan buat silap dan yang
silap jangan buat senyap.
3
Sayang-menyayang saling bertandang dan
sanjung-menyanjung saling berkunjung.
4
Lebih mudah mencari seribu alasan tetapi
lebih payah mencari satu ulasan.
5
Yang benar jangan sesekali dicabar dan
yang betul jangan sesekali disinggul.
6
Menjadi insaf kalau memberi maaf dan
menjadi marah kalau mencari salah.
7
Terpanggil kerana masalah kecil tetapi ter-
cabar kerana masalah besar.
8
Bijak jika bersama orang bodoh dan kacak
cak jika bersama orang hodoh.
9
Tampil kalau saling memanggil tetapi ber-
tengkar kalau saling menggelar.
10
Jika masa muda tak suka beramal maka
masa tua sentiasa menyesal.
