ILHAM MINDA 161
LUBUK AKAL TEPIAN ILMU
BERBAHGIA RASA BERBAHASA KATA
(Short saying drawn from long experience)
(One man’s wit is all men’s wisdom)
11
Walaupun sukar usah hilang ikhtiar dan
walaupun siksa usah hilang usaha.
12
Kurang makan jangan kurang sopan dan
kurang sabar jangan kurang ajar.
13
Berkawan saling memberi pesan dan ber-
sahabat saling memberi nasihat.
14
Kegagalan hilangkan keyakinan dan ke-
kecekalan datangkan jaminan.
15
Yang membantu itu adalah kawan tetapi
yang menggampu itu adalah lawan.
16
Senyuman itu membawa rezeki manakala
lamunan itu pula membawa rugi.
17
Yang ketawa hatinya gembira manakala
yang menangis hatinya terguris.
18
Ikut jalan yang lurus takkan terjerumus dan
ikut jalan yang benar takkan tersasar.
19
Di mana ada harapan di situ berjalan dan
di mana ada rezeki di situ berlari.
20
Pendeta dapat sanjungan dek akal dan
peniaga dapat keuntungan dek modal.
