(One man's wit is all men's wisdom)
1
Yang selalu dirujuk menjadi kawan tetapi
yang selalu dikutuk menjadi lawan.
2
Yang selalu menuduh menjadi musuh dan
yang selalu menipu menjadi seteru.
3
Yang tak kisah membawa masalah dan
yang tidak peduli membawa rugi.
4
Baik sambil menyoal itu ambil hal dan
sambil bertanya itu ambil cakna.
5
Jika bercakap gah orang sanggah dan
jika bercakap besar orang cabar.
6
Lihat mendung jangan bermurung dan
Dengar guruh jangan terpengaruh.
7
Dipuji berulang kali barulah teruji dan
dipuja berulang kali barulah teruja.
8
Hidup bagaikan laut, ada pasang ada
surut dan ada tenang ada ribut.
9
Semulia-mulia fakir ialah ikhlas tetapi
sehina-hina pandir ialah malas.
10
Ketika musibah sedikit yang bermuha-
sabah tetapi ramai yang menyanggah.
