ILHAM MINDA 153
LUBUK AKAL TEPIAN ILMU
UMPANAN RASA UMPATAN KATA
(Short saying drawn from long experience)
(One man’s wit is all men’s wisdom)

21
Kadang-kadang berkata benar dicabar
tetapi berkata bohong disokong.

22
Seburuk gading dibasuh bermutu teta-
pi seburuk daging dibasuk berbau.

23
Nama yang harum orang kagum tetapi
nama yang busuk orang kutuk.

24
Selalu buat salah orang menyampah
dan selalu buat jahat orang meluat.

25
Jika selalu menunduk terhantuk dan ji-
ka selalu mendongak tersepak.

26
Sekeras-keras besi dibakar jadi lembut
dn sekeras-keras hati dicabar jadi takut.

27
Jika semasa mudanya melepak maka
semasa tuanya terdesak.

28
Biar yang pahit menjadi penawar dan
biar yang perit menjadi iktibar.

29
Adakala masalah itu membawa ikhtiar
dan musibah itu membawa iktibar.

Sambil menyelam minum air dan sam-
bil berendam dapat berfikir.

The garden, which is 58.3 hectares
in area with a circumference of 3.5 km,
blends three distinct styles: a French Formal
and English Landscape in the north and to
the south a Japanese traditional. A traditional
Japanese tea house can be found
within the gardens.

Shinjuku Gyoen
is home to a large number of cherry trees
of more than a dozen different varieties.
From late March to early April, more than
400 somei yoshino trees blossom around
the English garden turning the lawns into
one of Tokyo's most popular and pleasant
hanami spots.
